Mirsad Kriještorac holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Florida International University's School of International and Public Affairs, where he also teaches classes on Nationalism and Ethnicity as well as classes on Human Rights.

He is a Research Fellow at the Jaffer Center for Muslim World Studies at the Green School of International and Public Affairs. Dr. Kriještorac’s regional concentration in comparative politics is on SE European and MENA countries. His research interest focuses on nationalism and the role of culture in politics, and he has published works on these topics.

Dr. Kriještorac's latest works are on Russian foreign policy and a chapter on the Bosnian Muslim experience of Former Yugoslavia for the upcoming edited book (Routledge, exp. 2025). In 2022 he published the book First Nationalism Then Identity: On Bosnian Muslims and Their Bosniak Identity with University of Michigan Press.

He is now the associate professor of Political Science at Broward College in Florida, USA. Additionally, Dr. Kriještorac is a senior researcher at the Bratislava-based Minority Issues Research Institute.

As a public intellectual, he frequently presents nationally and internationally at various forums on relevant political issues and serves his communities in various ways.
